This document sets forth the current policies and practices of Wakefern Food Corp. (“Wakefern”) with respect to Dearborn MarketSM Rewards Program participants.
Wakefern respects your privacy and exercises precautions to maintain the confidentiality of the information that you provide to us.
We may gather certain types of personally identifiable information, such as your name, e-mail address, street address or other postal mailing address, telephone number(s), purchase information and history, and if you request check cashing privileges at our stores, your checking account number and/or driver’s license number (collectively, “Personal Information”). It is therefore important for you to know how we collect, use, disclose, manage, and store the Personal Information that you may voluntarily provide to us.
Collection & Use of Information: We may collect and use aggregate sales information to analyze sales trends. Aggregated information is not covered by this policy because it does not identify any individuals.
We do not collect Personal Information about you except when you specifically and knowingly provide it.
Wakefern collects information about purchases made in Dearborn Market stores and on www.dearbornmarket.com by Dearborn MarketSM Rewards Program participants. This information allows us to send coupons and information about new products and special offers that will be of interest to you, to respond to your suggestions and questions, and to inform you of product safety recalls. In the event of an urgent recall of a product you purchased with your Dearborn MarketSM Rewards Program card, when practical, the Personal Information that you provide may be used to contact you through an automated telephone messaging system or by other means. Please make sure to tell us if your contact information changes. We will use reasonable efforts to notify you, but we cannot guarantee that you will receive notification of every recall through our service.
Disclosure of Information: We may share Personal Information with third parties that we engage, and with whom we have written agreements regarding the confidentiality of Personal Information, to help us provide tailored promotions and marketing offers and to improve our digital services, including communications to you via e-mail and mobile telephone, as well as through our websites (“Digital Services”).
Other than as set forth above, we will not sell, exchange, rent, lease or otherwise disclose your Personal Information to any third party without your consent. In particular, we do not share Personal Information with third parties for their marketing or promotional use, except as part of a specific program for which you make the choice to opt-in. For example, we may offer coupons that require you to fill out an advertiser survey in order to be eligible to receive the coupons. We will provide the information to the advertiser, but only when you have chosen to opt-in.
However, Wakefern may disclose Personal Information in special cases: (1) when we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact, or bring legal action against someone who may be intentionally or unintentionally: (a) causing injury to Wakefern or to a third party; (b) interfering with the rights of Wakefern or a third party; and/or (c) threatening the physical safety of any person; (2) when we believe in good faith that the law requires it, such as to comply with a court order, subpoena or warrant; (3) to our affiliates; and (4) to any third party who may acquire Wakefern.
Procedures to Review Your Personal Information and to Opt-Out: You can always contact Wakefern if you wish to review any Personal Information we may have about you. If we have Personal Information about you, we will provide you with a readable copy of such Personal Information at no charge. Factual errors in your Personal Information, including out-of-date information, can be corrected by sending us a request that credibly shows our error. To protect your privacy and security, we take commercially reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access to Personal Information or making corrections.
Also, you may always opt-out of receiving communications from us. If you are receiving e-mail messages from us and do not wish to receive any more, use the links on the bottom of the e-mail message to make changes to your e-mail preferences. If there are no links, follow the instructions at the bottom of the message. When we receive your notification that you want to opt-out, we will process your request promptly. Please note, however, that as a result, you will not receive information about our promotions.
Further, if you do not want your Personal Information to be shared with third parties in the manner discussed in the sections above entitled “Collection and Use of Information” and “Disclosure of Information,” please notify Wakefern.
You can update your Dearborn MarketSM Rewards Program profile by visiting the “My Account” section of the Dearborn MarketSM website (www.dearbornmarket.com). If you direct us not to share your Personal Information, you will not be eligible for certain Dearborn MarketSM Rewards Program promotions that require data about individuals.
Security of Information: The Personal Information collected is maintained in a manner consistent with current industry standards. Your Personal Information resides on servers that are protected by physical and electronic safeguards.
If you have any objections to the Dearborn MarketSM Rewards Program, you should not register for a Dearborn MarketSM Rewards Program card or use the card.
