Gardens need a pop of color and some decorative items as well as the lovely plants you’ve already planted. We’ll be making decorative garden stakes to brighten up your outdoor oasis.

Learn to identity the calls of some of the more common birds in Central New Jersey. Then stay and make a homemade bird feeder and decorate a bird house.

Garden Scavenger Hunt

Wed. Aug. 7th

Stroll through our garden grounds as we embark on a hunt for some of nature’s finest items. Keep your eyes peeled and collect all of the items on our Summer Nature Scavenger Hunt sheet. This activity makes the kids more aware of all the things going on around them that they might otherwise miss.

Fall Planting Day

Mon. Aug. 19th

Let your kids learn about the garden-to-table experience about how to plant your own fall vegetables by helping our garden associates’ plant seasonal veggies. Once when they’re all grown, the kids can come back to help harvest them. There’s no better lesson than growing your own food! Every child gets to take home their very own planted fall vegetable!

Beat the Heat! Cactus and Succulent Gardens

Learn about these unusual looking plants called cacti and succulents —unique plants that live in very dry ecosystems and can survive with very little water. Then create your own cactus garden to care for at home.

End the summer with a garden BBQ! Enjoy hamburgers, hotdogs, & roast your own marshmallows for everyone’s favorite summer treat – s’mores! Dance and sing to live music.
